The tour of monasteries and churches

Today we do want entertainment, especially when we are young, but we also seek for spirituality. One of the ways to satisfy our need for spirituality is to visit the buildings such as monasteries and churches and other legacies of famous rulers of the past. These buildings cherished spiritual and cultural values throughout history. While staying at the Arvati village you can visit a number of such spiritual places. In the vicinity of the Kurbinovo village, which is situated 3km from the Arvati village, there is the monastery Saint George. The monastery's fresco-painting by an anonymous master was completed in 1191. How long ago was that? But the virtuous hand of the medieval master painted certainly one of the most beautiful frescoes, "The Annunciation". It is a fresco without precedent and it is located in the upper zone of the church, close to the altar.

One feels inapt to describe all the beauties of this region: calmness and sky, clouds coming and disappearing slowly with the breeze, or the sunset on the coasts. It is the desire to remember the things past or a yearning to come here immediately, to head to the South. Except for the church of Saint George, which is a masterpiece acknowledged throughout the world, close to the lake and Slivnica village there is also the monastery of Blessed Lady from 1607, built during the times of monk Nikanor. The church was commissioned by Mihail Petkov from Bitola and was erected in remembrance of his son- Kupen.

In the vicinity of the Brajčino village, also about 3 km from Arvati, there is a medieval Orthodox church of Saint Archangel and monastery Saint Petka, built and painted in the fourteenth century. There are a lot of monasteries and wonderful God's temples in the vicinity of the Arvati village.
