Religious holidays
The tradition of celebrating religious holidays at the Arvati village has been kept to this day. During the holidays the peasants take a break from everyday agricultural works. Hosts kindly welcome their cousins and friends to the table filled with food that is the gift from the God.
The biggest village holidays are Saint Archangel (19th September) and The Ascension of the Holy Virgin (28th August). Family holidays in the Arvati village are: Saint Nicholas (19th December), Winter Saint Petka (10th November), Saint Virgin of Purity (4th December), Saint Dimitrije of Solun (8th November). Especially interesting holidays are: Christmas, the feast of Vasilica, Easter, and others. For each of these holidays the inhabitants of the Arvati village sing religious songs, an event which is a special experience for tourists.
Big Muslim holidays are celebrated at the village: Ramazan, Bajram and Kurban Bajram. When an Orthodox religious holiday is celebrated the Muslim people visit their neighbours and friends, and vice versa.
